ASC uses company owned PDA equipment and has in-house capability to perform a full range of Dynamic Testing Services for Deep Foundations including:
Pile Driving Analyer (PDA) is a state-of-the-art method to measure pile capacity and replaces lengthier and costlier conventional static pile load tests. Measurements of strain and acceleration are taken using strain transducers and piezoelectric accelerometers connected to the pile during driving. These gauges are linked to the PAKModel PDA with a connector cable, and measurements of strain and acceleration are gathered during driving. This data is then evaluated to calculate the following parameters:
- Hammer Efficiency and Performance are evaluated based on the transferred energy to the pile top.
- Internal Driving Stresses are controlled to minimize high tension and compression stresses which could otherwise damage the pile.
- Pile Capacity is provided in real-time based on driving data.
- A Saximeter is sometimes used to measure blowcount and hammer stroke.
Wave Equation Analysis of Piles (WEAP) software provides a computer simulation of the proposed pile driving procedure and is utilized to establish initial pile installation criteria, evaluate pre-construction driveability, assist in the selection of a correct pile hammer as well as evaluation of various pile cushion configurations. WEAP also provides an evaluation of internal driving stresses, compressive and tensile, to simulate potential problems that may arise during initial pile installation.

Case Pile Wave Analysis Program Continuous Model (CAPWAPC) procedure is employed and is a software program for analyzing measured force and velocity values during driving to determine site-specific soil parameters and refine initial capacity estimates. Several soil parameters listed below are determined and evaluated using CAPWAPC.
- Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA)
- Wave Equation Analyses of Piles (WEAP)
- Case Pile Wave Anaylsis Program Continuous Model (CAPWAPC)
- Statnamic Testing
Dynamic Pile Testing utilizing ASC's state-of-the-art PAK Model PDA eliminates the need for lengthier and costlier conventional static pile load tests. PDA is approved, specified, and required by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) as well as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
ASC's team of experienced engineers have provided Dynamic Testing Services for over 50 public transportation projects and private commercial projects throughout Florida.
