ASC has acquired the Geoprobe Model 6625CPT
May 2006
LAKELAND - ASC has acquired the Geoprobe Model 6625CPT. The machine is capable of performing Cone Penetration Test (CPT) soundings and is completely operable using remote controls. The CPT system can use electrical or acoustical energy to transmit information to the receiver located at the surface. CPT can also be used to efficiently locate potential water-bearing zones for the collection of groundwater samples. Diameter rods are attached to the CPT probe and pushed into the ground with large hydraulic rams. Data is collected continuously as the rods are advanced. Dissipation tests for soil permeability can be performed while the cone is statically held between data collection runs. The CPT system can also be effective for the collection of discrete soil, groundwater, or soil vapor samples.
